Japanese painter, mainly using acrylic on canvas. The clear colors,
shapes, and a sense of rhythm are characteristic of his paintings, which
aresimilar to 'Ukiyo-e,' Japanese traditional paintings which flourished
in the'Edo' period (about 1657 ~ 1868).
In 1984, he began to paint musicians, dancers, women and men in
vivid colors for music magazine covers or articles. He has held 11 solo
exhibitions in various places, including NY, and has been invited to
severalgroup exhibitions.
He aims to depict positive aspects of the world, such as joy, happiness,
hope and love with the use of his rhythmical color arrangement.
He says, "I'd like to forget about depressing things at least while I'm
looking at paintings" "For example, I try to catch the moment when you
feel breeze on a very hot summer day." He also enjoys the rhythm in
music, the city, sunlight, and the heart beat, which he hopes to convey in
his works.
As his facial depiction is vague, his works leave imaginative space for
people. Moreover, his characters do not clearly belong to any race or creed
which let the emotion as the only concrete from in his work.
Please, enjoy.
